The results of a gathering - a recap

Our June 7th get together was a great meeting!  About nine of us gathered together for a great time of learning, encouragement and planning.

Debbie opened our meeting with the Sharing and Prayer time.  We broke off into groups of three and shared stories of Living with an Intentionally Evangelistic mindset (or not in some cases!) and joined together in prayer for each other.  It's always such an encouraging time!

We enjoyed Coffee, juice, donuts, and fresh veggies as Conrad led the gospel time with a the first ten minutes of a talk by Louis Giglio - Fruitcake and Ice cream.  It is a powerful and extremely simple video that I would highly recommend you watching!  The link I included with this post only shows 7 min of it but it's still good none the less!

The evangelism section was led by Carmela and we split into smaller groups again and practiced sharing/reading our gospel presentations to each other.  The cool thing is that everybody's is different and so we share the same story from different angles!  I was extremely hesitant to do this 'assignment' because I thought it would be too hard and I don't really know theology very well.  But as I started into it I was very surprised at how easily it flowed and how much it taught me about the whole picture of the story of the gospel. I would highly recommend everybody doing this project simply because it's amazing what you can learn or what you find out you already know!

I (Christina) led the doing time of the evening where we discuss events and projects.  We heard a recap about the basket that was submitted on behalf of our church as a donation to the Emo Walleye Classic Penny Table.  It was very encouraging to hear how much the basket creater enjoyed making, and was blessed by making, the basket!
I thought that the basket was the only recap that we had so I was ready to move on to the planning time when Olive and Carmela piped up and excitedly told us about the neighbourhood BBQ that they held!  It was lots of fun to hear about the fun they had with it!
I also figured that because we were getting short on time I would skip over the part in the agenda that talked about the planning for the "Materials for Waiting Rooms",  "Tracts available for church members" and "Future Movie Nights".  But in each case people spoke up excitedly!  Olive had found some material for colouring that she showed to us and Conrad had ordered some tracts that he showed to us!  Then Dayle asked a question about movie nights and shared a movie that she wanted to show!  It was encouraging to see so much excitement about different ideas.
We also heard from Conrad about the Wilderness/Survival day camp that he had been thinking about!

The main meat of our planning/doing time last night was to talk about the upcoming Rest Station at the Emo Fair in August.  Lots of great ideas came up about it and planning is definitely in the works for it!

Before we closed the meeting, Debbie also presented the calendar that she had made up for us and we added a number of upcoming dates as well as deadlines!

Overall it was a encouraging, productive and fun learning time!  I will try to post more of the information about ideas and planning shortly.
