Living with an intentionally evangelistic mindset

A catch phrase we use at PEG is “living with an intentionally evangelistic mindset.”  What does that mean, you ask?  Basically, it means living like you are a missionary in your own culture.
Missionaries are constantly looking for ways to spread the Gospel to the people they are trying to reach.  Everything they do, from where they shop, to how they interact with their co-workers, to their recreation activities, is done with the mindset of how can I build relationships with people, to learn to love people, for the purpose of sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
We believe all Christians should live that way, looking at their normal, everyday activities as God-given opportunities to reach out with the Gospel.  Living for Jesus isn’t something that just happens at church on Sunday’s or at Small Group or when with other Christians.  God gives us so many opportunities to reach out with his love, and we just need to take them!  Each day offers a fresh start as we pray for God to use us to share his love with those we meet, be it at school, work, in the store, or on the phone.  Do we fail in this task? Often!  Will we give up? Never! Evangelism isn’t an option for Christians – it is a requirement.  And the joy that comes from living out our God given potential to share Jesus is unmatched.  So why not pray for the power, strength and courage to live with an “intentionally evangelistic mindset” today?!
